In his prime, Bob made 87 appearances (86 as captain) for Marshalswick
Baptist Free Church XI between his debut v Homewood Road URC in 1992
and Barton Church, Canterbury, in the Final of the National Christian
Cricket Cup in 2001.
In all, he scored 490 runs (average 17.50), took
127 wickets (average 8.86), and took 28 catches for the team. He scored
100 runs in a season once: 108 (average 21.60) in 1995.
He took 20
wickets in a season three times: 26 (average 6.23) in 1999 being his
best performance. He took two hat tricks: v Radlett CC, 1997 and v
Hemel Hempstead 1997.
He led Marshalswick Baptist Free Church to the
National Christian Cricket Cup in 2000 and to be Runners-Up in the
competition in 2001. (As a player, his record was: played 87, won 63,
lost 16, drawn 8 and, as captain, played 86, won 62)
Bob played seven times - captain in each game - for the Baptist Union
of Great Britain XI, from 1998 to 2001. The team's record was: played
7, won 4, lost 1, drawn 2.
Bob umpired Kent CCC v Eastenders XI - Alan Igglesden's Benefit Match
at Tunbridge Wells in September 1998.
