Omniplex, the e-learning solutions provider which distributes corporate e-learning products in Europe and the Americas, has pronounced itself delighted with the news that the recent Brandon Hall Awards have awarded two further awards – a Gold and a Silver Award – to the Absorb Anywhere learning management system (LMS).

At this year’s Brandon Hall awards, held in the USA, Blatant Media Corporation – the Calgary, Canada-based company whose products are represented exclusively in Europe by Omniplex – picked up a Gold Award for ‘Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for Global Training’ and a Silver Award for ‘Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for External Training’ for its Absorb LMS.

Last year, Absorb won the Gold Award in the ‘Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses’ category and the Bronze Award in the ‘Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for External Training’ category.

Absorb can provide language specific training, news, surveys, FAQs, and interfaces based upon a user’s profile. Wherever learners are in the world and whatever their job title, the information they receive will be entirely specific to them and translated appropriately. The LMS supports multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Dutch, simplified Chinese, Arabic, traditional Chinese, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, and Swedish. The Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Technology Awards, presented annually by Brandon Hall Group at the end of April, recognise and showcase the many technological advances in products for workplace learning each year. The Excellence in Learning Technology Awards program showcases innovations in the products in the marketplace for creating and managing learning, talent, and performance.

Comment: In this dog-eat-dog, rat race of a world – where, incidentally, if you win, by definition you’re still a rat – it’s nice to see a company express delight at another company’s success. Moreover, it’s also nice to see a company praise another’s product because of its capabilities and ability to meet customers’ needs.

That’s true even if, as in this case, the company expressing delight is not entirely unconnected with, nor unaffected by, the success of the product it’s praising.
