Through its consultancy arm, Workplace Matters, an ecumenical charity which takes Christian values into the workplace, is running a ‘Leadership in Business Network’. In particular, the Network will be holding three evening meetings – on 22nd September, 23rd October and 27th November – at The Vineyard Centre, 7 Brick Knoll Park, St. Albans, AL1 5UG, from 7.45pm for an 8pm start, until 10pm.

Intended for local business people who’re interested in developing their leadership skills, the Network aims to create a ‘safe’ space for members to share current leadership challenges, take advantage of free resources and support, and facilitate shared discussion and mutual learning.

At the Network’s first meeting, on 22nd September, Dr Karen Blakeley, Senior Lecturer in Leadership & Management at Winchester University’s Business School, will speak about Responsible Leadership, focusing on the values underpinning responsible leadership, making the distinction between learned values, motivational values and virtues. This model is based on the concept of personal transformation, drawing on Christian ideas around spiritual growth.

According to Sue Howard, the Network’s organiser, Network meetings are free to attend, although donations are welcome to help cover costs.
