Webinars offer the ability to learn something and interact with colleagues – and, sometimes, competitors – with the added advantage of not having to leave your home or office to do so. Consequently, in recent years, webinars have grown in frequency and popularity – much to the dismay of the hotel and catering industry, whose facilities are not so much in demand for conferences and seminars.

Among the more noteworthy webinars coming up in the field of learning technologies is one being held jointly by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the global vendor of learning content management solutions (eXact LCMS) and digital repository platforms (HarvestRoad Hive), eXact learning solutions.

The webinar is entitled ‘UNHCR’s innovative approach to achieve a global content management strategy – and experience from the field’ and it takes place on 26th July.

Atish Gonsalves, Director of Learning Technology at the UNHCR, Alessio Artuffo, Director of Operations and Fabrizio Cardinali, CEO at eXact learning solutions North America, will outline a fully functioning LCMS project which UNHCR is currently operating ‘in the field’. The issues being covered include the key drivers to a successful learning content-centric strategy:

  • Enabling global collaboration of content production processes
  • Increasing ROI and decreasing time-to-production while maintaining high-quality standards and consistency

Those attending the webinar should learn how the adoption of an enterprise content management solution, which is XML-based, SCORMcertified and supported by multi-channel reusable learning object template libraries (RLOs), helps the UNHCR’s content development capabilities.

This webinar is scheduled to include a demonstration of the new version 8 of eXact LCMS. This version supports advanced web-based and off-line authoring, Android and iPad delivery, as well as dynamic publishing on legacy LMS third party platforms.
